We are in Costa Rica right now. Our time working and playing here lends its self to plenty of interesting images if I can just slow the family down long enough to look at them.
We don't feel unsafe here but there are bars around every house and on their windows. This store owner is wearing a handgun on his belt. He looks like he is suspicious of me and my camera.
Female motorcycle driver is being passed up by a faster car. She is driving pretty safe and slow compared to most of the other motorcycles we were on the road with.
Black and white with a high contrast felt like the correct color manipulation so that I could reduce the confusion of the image. The image is off balance with the main character primarily in the center. Two women taking different methods of transportation to their destination. Waiting on their turn to go out on the kayak. There are leading lines of the dock to the subject and the trees and shadows frame the image.
"I'm hungry too".
Photo taken in a symmetrically balanced composition. The black lime weighing down the space that the puppy sits on. You can't help but look toward it. "The test was worth the destination."
Photo colors decreased except the pink to encourage visual dominance of the patient. The contrast of the blacks and whites were increased. |
